Aspiring candidates with an annual income below 1 lakh can apply for the Saraswati Aviation Academy Scholarship in online mode. Additionally, candidates must provide a copy of the following documents via email to saraswatiaviation@gmail.com along with the application form:

  • Income certificate
  • Domicile certificate
  • Caste certificate
  • Two passport size colored

2. Air India Scholarships

3. Indian Airlines Scholarships

The Rajiv Gandhi Foundation awards two scholarships, each worth 3 lakhs, to two female pilots in every batch, based on merit.

Annually, the JRD Tata Memorial board of directors grants 10 lakhs in scholarships to pilot trainees, with four students receiving scholarships of 1 lakh each for pilot training.

6. Scholarship by Government Aviation Training Institute (GATI)

The Government Aviation Training Institute (GATI), renowned for providing flying and pilot training programs to Indian students, offers scholarship opportunities for meritorious Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) students. Candidate selection is based on their Class 12 board exam scores

7. Scholarship to reserved category candidates SC or ST

The Air India scholarship for pilot training of Rs. 2 lakhs is awarded to seven candidates belonging to the reserved categories of SC or ST for their pilot training. In addition, three candidates from the SC or ST categories are granted an extra amount of Rs. 2 lakhs based on their merit. 8. Air Line Pilots Association Scholarship Program

Chosen recipients will be granted a total scholarship value of $12,000, with yearly disbursements of $3,000 over four consecutive years, contingent upon maintaining a 3.0 GPA.

9. Financial Aid from the Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals

The Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals (OBAP) provides financial assistance to outstanding high school graduates interested in pursuing a pilot training program at their institution. The program will select 38 students to receive a total of $179,000 in funding, allowing them to experience a fully-sponsored pilot training course.

10. GAPAN Scholarship for Aviation Training

The Honourable Company of Air Pilots, previously known as the Guild of Pilot & Navigators (GAPAN), offers opportunities for individuals interested in the aviation field. This global, fully-funded program provides the following benefits to selected participants:

  • Acquisition of a Private Pilot’s Licence
  • Complimentary theoretical training for Air Transport Pilot programs
  • Flight Instructor Ratings
  • Jet Orientation Courses

Pursuing a pilot career through NDA

A merit-based pathway to achieving one’s pilot dream is available through the National Defense Academy (NDA). To be eligible, a candidate must pass the NDA entrance exam and have completed Class XII in the science stream, with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English as a language paper. Upon excelling in the entrance exam, the candidate will receive pilot training at the National Defense Academy, followed by specialized training at the Air Force Academy.

The training period spans three years, during which a candidate receives a stipend for living expenses. Upon completion, the candidate is commissioned as a Flying Officer and assigned to a pilot role at the Air Force Station. It is important to note that a candidate cannot voluntarily leave their position as a Flying Officer; the Indian Air Force has sole discretion over their employment status.

In addition to NDA training, some institutions offer scholarships for pilot training to select candidates. The Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi (IGRUA) is responsible for administering these scholarship grants to deserving applicants.
