Below are the requirements to meet when applying for medical scholarship in South Korea for international students on the official website.
International students scholarship A
- A minimum GPA is required from the most recent school attended: 4.0 or higher (out of 4.5), 3.83 or higher (out of 4.3), 3.57 or higher (out of 4.0), or 90 or higher (out of 100).
- English proficiency test scores are also required: TOEFL (PBT) 577 or higher, TOEFL (CBT) 233 or higher, TOEFL (iBT) 90 or higher, TEPS 700 or higher, IELTS 7.0 or higher, or TOPIK level 6 or higher (mandatory for native English speakers as well).
- Departmental recommendation and approval from the graduate school dean are necessary.
- All three conditions must be met to qualify for a scholarship.
International students scholarships B and C
- Departmental recommendation and consent from the graduate school dean are needed for both Natural Science and Engineering Areas.
Scholarship perks
Master’s and doctoral students will receive the medical scholarship in South Korea for international students for four (4) semesters, while those enrolled in integrated master’s and doctoral programs will benefit from scholarships for eight (8) semesters.

Requirements to retain scholarship award
To maintain the foreign student scholarship, students must uphold a GPA of 3.5 or higher, as per the College of Medicine’s policy.
International student scholarship A
- Maintain a GPA of 3.8 or higher
- If the GPA is between 3.0 and 3.8 for two consecutive semesters, a 75% scholarship is provided; students who achieve a 3.8 GPA or higher afterward will receive a 100% scholarship.
- If the GPA is below 3.0 for two consecutive semesters, the scholarship will be suspended. However, a 75% scholarship will be granted if the student’s GPA rises to 3.0 or higher afterward.
- Scholarship A will not be reinstated after suspension.
International student scholarship B
- Maintain a GPA of 3.5 or higher
International student scholarship C
- Maintain a GPA of 3.5 or higher
