DAAD scholarship for Nigerian students

Nigerian-German Postgraduate Training Programme PhD • DAAD. The primary goal of the program is to cultivate the next generation of academics and researchers by financially supporting their pursuit of doctoral degrees in Germany.

1. Eligibility

Highly accomplished individuals associated with the oil and gas sector are welcome to apply. You can even apply for DAAD without IELTS but you’ll need other proficiency test.

2. Funding opportunities

Doctoral degree (individual project or structured program) in a field connected to the oil and gas industry.

The funding duration is typically, up to 3 years.

Funding benefits:

  • A full-time, up to 6-month preparatory German language course, including accommodation and allowance, or an online language course from home with a lump-sum payment.
  • A monthly scholarship payment of €1,200.
  • Reimbursement of travel expenses through an appropriate lump sum, disbursed upon arrival in Germany and during the funding period.
  • An annual study and research allowance of €460.
  • Coverage for accident, health, and personal liability insurance.
  • Additional individual allowances available upon request.

3. Selection process

The Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) will conduct an initial screening of candidates and nominate them for the subsequent phase.

Successful applicants must then apply via the DAAD Portal, where an independent committee of scientists will evaluate and select the scholarship recipients.
